Guest guest
, You and I were the same age and in pretty much the same situation in 1962. Yes, I remember the movies. We were all excited when they showed us " Blue Hawaii " with Elvis. Like you, I was in a big room with eight to ten other girls. Since I was 13 I was in with the " big girls " If you were under 12 you had to be in a room with the little kids. The girls were on the second floor and the boys were on the third floor. I remember the kids with polio, several scoliosis, kids who needed artificial limbs, and the very unfortunate who were in auto accidents and were paralyzed. They were on Stryker beds. It's amazing how much if that year I still remember. Even now when I hear certain songs from '62 I 'm right back in that hospital. Maybe it was one of those " defining moments " in our life that Dr. Phil talks about. I'm sorry you are having so much pain. I complain about my nerve pain but I know there are many others with problems that are a lot more severe. Barbara
