For those of you who attended the California's family conference, you might remember our musical little guy! Our experience in California was truly amazing! It was very intense...but we would gladly do it again! Our son, Christian, is 5 years old and he has ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). In the past three year we have tried different approaches to help him: from ABA therapy to occupational and speech therapy to biomedical interventions. I am happy to share that every therapy has helped him in some way or another, but this in this family conference we learned more about the root cause some of his challenges. While in California, he amazed us everyday by being more present...more connected with us and with his environment. He hasn't lost what he gained...and he keeps progressing. Off couse, now, after the trip we are trying to incorporate what we learned into his daily routine...and we are a bit lost. We are watching the DVDs provided because now everything seems similar but different. I'm looking forward keeping in touch with those we met...and also meeting new families in this journey.
