For e I was taught to stroke with each move and with Gallant at the beginning. That was me. It may have changed since it is always improving.

Okay, I've been taught two different ways on these reflexes and I would appreciate some help. When you stroke alongside the spine to activate the reflex, do you A) stroke alongside the spine 3 times and then do all the integrations, or B) stroke alongside the spine in between each and every integration move--example stroke, compress hip/shoulder, stroke, compress hip/shoulder, stroke, compress hip/shoulder, stroke, push shoulder blade/hip (as if rolling forward), stroke, push/shoulder blade/hip, etc.

Any input would be appreciate.

I do it the second way (B), I think you need to activate the reflex right before integrating it....From: Donna Bateman <donna.bateman@...> Sent: Thu, May 26, 2011 1:10:01 PMSubject: Spinal Gallant/Spinal e questions

My answer would be enough stimulus to wake up the sensory motor loop, but not so much to put the client into protection. I have had a client who could only tolerate a single stroke, and with hypotonic clients I will mix a lot of stimulus into the exercises.
