Thanks for your response. I'm so surprised by all of this information. I haven't had any pain up until 2 years ago. I never thought I'd experience pain like this years later. Like you I've always ignored any pain and went on. When my hip and leg began to hurt I stopped and took notice. I wish you the best. We've been through this once. We can do it again. However, I don't know about the rest of you... but my scoliosis surgery really changed my life as a teenager. I went through my teen years with added issues. I went into nursing because of my surgery in 1981. I was in the infamous stryker frame and remember the nurse dropping liquid on my feet. I don't know if my catheter had been changed, but I remember asking her to wipe them off and no response. I also remember cigarette smoke smell on the nurses and too much perfume. I vowed never to let sick patients feel uncomfortable or their needs to met. I'm now in

Administration and train staff members to treat our patients with dignity. I have the perspective of a patient and nurse.Frottola <frottola@...> wrote: Thanks for all of your encouragemenet. I will definitely let you allknow what happens in the immediate future. It's very depressing to know what has happened and that so many otherpeople suffer from the same thing. I'm so glad they don't use theharrington rod anymore and that no more people have to suffer throughthis type of problem. Reading the post on Myelogram, , I hope they find something, andif you don't, find someone who will help you. I wish I went and foundhelp years ago! My husband finally pushed me into getting more help.I can relate to the upper back, hip, and leg pain. My upper backpain has been

plaguing me for as long as I can remember. I've learnedto ignore it until it gets really bad - when my hip and leg starts tohurt. It sounds like the flatback symptoms, totally. So, I hope youdon't stop looking for relief. Yesterday, my back started to spasm from over compensation. I thinkI'm thinking about my problem too much. When the initial shock isover, I'm sure I'll feel like my old self (chronic pain, nospasms)soon. lol.
