I couldn't do the swivel kicks in the beginning or the machine gun

kicks and I can do both of those now. The improvement I have noticed

the most is my balance. In the beginning I couldn't hold my balance

for very long without putting my foot down. Now, most days I can hold

the moves for a long time. The one thing that hasn't improved at all

is my flexibility...which I think is strange. But, if anything.....I

feel even less flexible now that I do tae-bo than I did before when I

was doing other exercises.

Hi Barb,

It wasn't the people in the video doing it that got me...MY HUBBY

squatted down and got it right from the get go...grrr..lol. I really

had to work at it for a long time and actually physically lengthen that

tendon or muscle (?) in order to do it. It's good to know that you were

out there doing the same thing. Grrr..WE R TUFF! ;)

I had alot of trouble balancing on the roundhouse kicks so I held on to a

wall or something I'm getting much better although some of the similar moves

I hold on until I get balanced and then let go, I'm sure with time I'll be

able to balance even better.

Wow, what a great question !!! Taebo has had such a big impact on

my life, I am thrilled I found these tapes and ! I started a year

ago, at that point I was overweight and had been walking/jogging for

almost a year, 6 days a week with little results. It was so

aggravating! I found Taebo after watching Oprah and was quickly hooked!

My only goal at that time was to lose the weight, I quickly found out

Taebo is so much more than physical. I feel so much better now and have

so much more confidence. I have gone from a size 12 to a 6, which is

awesome but I have gotten so much more than that. Taebo has made me

feel really good about myself again, as a mom of 3 ages 10,6 and 4 it

is so easy to feel overwhelmed. But just taking that 1 hour a day puts

everything in perspective, gives me time for me, I feel good about that!

before finding taebo i was obsessed with getting thin, of course everything

i tried failed!! but it was all i could think about!! since finding taebo,

i have taken the focus off actual pounds, and started working on actually

feeling better! it has changed my way of thinking as well as my way of

life!

Nicci,

That's great! One of the things always says is that you can't

focus on just changing the outside, because if it was just a physical

change that had to occur, we'd all be in shape. If you only focus on

changing the outside, it's not going to happen. There has to be an

inner change that goes along with the outside one. Otherwise, we'll

give up when we don't see the immediate results that we want. The most

important aspect that we have to work on is changing our will and

believing that we can achieve whatever it is that we want to achieve.

If we believe that we can make a change and we really believe it inside

of us, than the outside changes are bound to follow because we will

keep going until we reach our goals and we won't be ruled by the

physical results that we do or don't see. I'm glad that you are

finally able to go by how you feel on the inside and not only by your

physical results, that's the first and most important step to reaching

your goals! Congratulations!

>

> What impact has Tae-Bo had on your life?

Tae-bo has given me an inner confidence I never thought I'd ever have.

It has taught me not to focus on the outside physical changes in terms

of seeing results in yourself. I don't focus on how much weight I've

lost or how much weight I still want to lose and I don't just exercise

because I have to. I exercise because I love it and it makes me feel

great. I've learned that the most important changes that occur are on

the inside....the confidence we have, the way we are able to focus our

minds and the way we are able to work our will. The outside changes

have amazed me, but they are not what keep me going. It's how I feel

on the inside and the way I look at myself now that are the reason I

keep doing tae-bo. All the rest is just an added benefit!

In addition, I never would have believed that tae-bo would bring all of

these amazing people into my life....this group has been incredible and

I'm so glad that I have found such a great group of people!

who finds it hard to put into words all that tae-bo has done for her

When I start to lose my motivation, I usually just

check my email, hee hee, The posts from all of you,

really does keep me motivated. Also I have been

reading the Question's for TBQ message board archives,

and to follow all of those amazing people's succes

stories, really does the trick! Also a good strong

look in the mirror usually does it too, not only do I

see I need improvement, I see what Tae bo has done for

me in such a short time, and I don't want to go back

to how I was before I started!.

First I take a short break from working out 3-5 days and I plan a rotation

to start with when I get ready to exercise again. I also pick easier tapes

and do whatever I want to do for a week or two....then BAM the motivation

comes back. P

I think about what my goals are, I think about what I will be able to do

once I have lost the 15 pounds that I need to lose and what it will mean for

me and my family. I think about what I used to weigh a year ago and don't

want to go back to that. I think about what size jeans I was wearing just 4

weeks ago and don't want to go back to that.

Romie when I'm home next I'll show you how to modify so that you are not

bouncing. Also what type of shoe are you wearing when you workout. Your on

hardwood floors right? That can make a big difference.

With Jumping jacks though. Those can be modified by standing on one stationary

leg and thrusting the other out and rotating legs. If that makes sense. If

is running in place...march in place at a high intensity etc. You will

still get a very effective workout.

Yes...;-) I have always noticed that when I do the roundhouse kicks that my

left kick is a little lower then my right kicks. For me it has to do with an

accident I was in when I was 6. I went through a glass window and I have a

huge scar above my right knee. I think when I am doing a left kick my right

leg just isn't as flexible or strong as my left leg is. I only notice this

on the roundhouse kicks though, everything els is pretty much even.

I definitely notice differences between the two sides. I especially

notice it on balancing moves. When my right foot is the supporting

leg, I have much better balance than on the other side. Also my kicks

with my right leg are much better. Same thins with the jabs...the

right jabs are much better. So, I guess my right side is just stronger

than the left, but I have noticed a great improvement in the left

side....so it's definitely catching up!

Ditto on noticing the difference.

My sidekicks are much better on my right leg and my roundhouse kicks

are much better on my left side. As far as balancing goes, I have a

much easier time balancing on my right leg.

My right side is significantly stronger than my left...from head to

toe...including my eyes (my left eye is ambliopic...lazy eye..with

20/200 vision without correction). My right calf muscle is

signficantly more defined, as is my right bicep. However, my right hip

is stiffer, making left roundhouse kicks more difficult than right (due

to stress on the right hip when putting all my weight on that side). I

noticed this a lot when being hyper aware of my form in L.A....I think

that hip might be arthritic...it's not muscle soreness (I know what

that feels like!) Maybe it's tendonitis or bursitis....I have to go

for a check-up soon, so I'll take it up with my doc. Anyway, I'm also

more coordinated on my right side. I think that is due to my vision

problem. I don't trust my left side. One thing I've thought about

doing is doing one of the 8-minute tapes...using only my left side...

twice per week in order to strengthen that side more.

;-)

Hi Vivian!

Just keep on keeping on..those muscles are going to work in your

favor sooner or later. And good for you for knowing that and sticking

with it!

What you said made me laugh because it reminded me of what my

husband says to during floorwork..which is his least favorite, "

Yeah, keep it up, , and I'll be the healthiest guy in the
