If you want to know what narcolepsy looks like, that mess of a post is a

" snapshot. " I haven't done that in a long time, had a sleep attack at my

computer. Usually my medicine keeps me awake when I am supposed to be. But I

have been overloaded with family stresses, illnesses, and crises lately, and I

guess I wasn't taking the best care of myself. Otherwise I would not have woken

up in horror to find that I had conked out on my keyboard for the first time in

ages. I must have actually hit " send " in my sleep as well. For a perfectionist

like me, you can imagine how I felt looking at the post and knowing it had

cluttered up all those email-boxes. I would have cut out the goofy lines and

made it look nice at the site, at least, but alas, it is always too late once a

post has posted -- the damage has been done.

I also get the feeling sometimes that when I post something at Feisty, other

people suddenly stop posting for a while. I hope I am just being " paranoid. " But

if you feel that something about my posts is a conversation-stopper, would you

please let me know? I am always trying to improve -- to be a more accessible and

decent person with a more relaxed and fulfilling life -- and I truly welcome

your constructive criticism. Please post publicly if possible, since I tend to

get awfully bogged down in my private email. Yes, we have a rigid " no-flames "

policy at this group, but I don't have to tell you that there are kind and

helpful ways to help each other that do not involve diminishing each others'

self-regard. You know how it's done, at least if you are the typical sensitive

spinal-surgery survivor. It never hurts to throw in a compliment or two, either,

when you are trying to help " improve " someone you care about -- I'm not

" fishing, " just trying to thank all of you who have been so very encouraging and

considerate in your responses to this group, both positive and constructively

critical.

Thank you for your patience. The quality of human being that this forum attracts

never ceases to touch, amaze, and awe me.

As ever,
