Guest guest
Before I get to my question, I need to vent a little. In order to appease my pain management doc, & basically just to shut him up, I allowed him to do an SI joint injection. He has been hounding me for months, & I was afraid if I continued to say " no " he would drop me as a patient. I have never been able to get it through his head that the majority of my pain is muscular. Being at nearly a 40 degree angle these days, my muscles are working even harder to pull me upright. So anyway, I was pleasantly suprised that the shot of dilaudid enabled me to stand erect for about 2 hours. I enjoyed standing up straight so much...it made me miss it even more...if that's possible. After the procedure, he started taling about TENS and a TENS-like implant. I asked about nerve blockers...like when they give you an epidural during labor. He muttered something about it being somewhat the same, before he walked out of the room. I'm not too enthused about a permanent implant at this stage of the game, since I plan on having revision surgery by springtime next year. I'm curious if anyone here is familiar with what he was talking about with a TENS-like unit implanted? ............................................Kathy
