Hi , don't know if you would want this story or not but it's mine and it's true. Thanks for all the hard work you do!

Attention, Feisty Members: Call for Stories!

Have you kept notes or a journal relating to your revision-surgery experience? Or have you posted about it in detail?Having our stories in one place, i.e., archived at our website with the other resources in the " Files " section, would be very valuable to members only now embarking on the revision surgery ordeal.

Why not look over your posts, emails, or journal, and put some of your writing together in a concise, cohesive document that tells your own unique story in your own singular voice? Or, if the spirit moves you, why not write something entirely new and original, relating your revision surgery experience?

This need not be a conventional essay. Maybe you favor a narrative poem, or diary format, or an email-exchange with someone important in your life. Probably most of us will want to tell our stories in prose, and in the form of a fairly chronological history, perhaps starting with a brief summary of our original scoliosis experience as a child, adolescent, or adult, then relating our flatback diagnosis and quest for help, followed by the nuts and bolts of our revision surgery experience, and culminating in an account of our post-op experience and progress to date. But any reasonably clear and informative presentation is fine.

This is your chance to " get it all out " -- to " tell it like it was " -- for the benefit of your friends and colleagues at the Feisty Forum who are facing a similar challenge. Your story will be most valuable if it is clear, readable, and concise; lively and interesting; and above all, honest and candid. It should be proofread and spellchecked, and you may want to do a bit of editing and rewriting after you complete it and read it over. A reasonable word-count might be 1500 words.

Please email me your story (or any questions you may have about this project). Your story itself, including a snappy title, should ideally be included within an email message; otherwise, it should be sent as a Microsoft Word attachment. My email address is elizabethrgonzalez@...

I look forward to hearing from you!Best,(List Manager, )
