I also have the numbness mostly in arms,legs and behind. I have

myoclonic jerks which make my arms legs and sometimes entire body

jerk for no reason. It is a sensation like when you get a sudden

chill and your body just shivers all over. The old timers used to

say that the feeling was caused by someone walking over your future

grave. My doctor put me on clonipine which has stopped the myoclonic

jerking. The only drawback is that it causes extreme drowsiness. I

take meds for inflamation, pain and the myoclonic jerks. I am

presently awaiting my FMLA leave to roll over to another year so that

I can have surgery for spinal stenosis. We'll work on the herniated

discs in the neck at a later time. Hope your doctor finds an answer

for you. You might want to look into Restless Leg Syndrome.

What an interesting post, Kathleen. You very aptly describe something I myself

have experienced many times -- the shivery jerking phenomenon. Truly an

excellent description of an experience I had not personally found the words to

convey.

I'm so sorry you are still having to put up with all this stuff. Thanks for

sharing your experiences with us, though -- I am sure this letter will be

--- I just wanted to thank you for all the info you gave me. I feel

a little more hopeful now that it is going to end up being related

to my spine. Of course i had to look up spinal stenosis and

myoclonic jerks. I actually get three diferent types of body

movement, i have had that shiver feeling but i also get muscle jerks

(mainly in my legs) and slow flinches(hard to expain).

As for restless leg syn. that has been ruled out because of all the

other things going on. But i hope the numbess is going to be

related to spinal stenosis.

Also i have been seeing a wonderful chiropractor for about 3 years,

but now i am not sure if i should continue until i get a diagnosis.

And i have developed problems with my ribs on my left side, he says

that they are stuck together and won't release. This can cause

extreme pain sometimes and makes is uncomfortable to lie down at

times.

You know when I think about all this stuff that is happening i

cannot believe how quickly all of this has come on. But I quess i

had a good 26 good years(boy am i getting old). But it still sucks

anyways(just feeling sorry for myself).

Well on a good note my husband and I just bought a 30ft rv trailer.

We get it tomorrow. We part it at a perminant site. My 5 year old

loves it. My husband and his family went out there every summer for

the last 20 odd years.
