REALLY DOWN

Dear Friends at Feistys, Well the dissappointment of having to wait

ANOTHER 8-9 Months for my Revision has really got me down tonight. I

think I truly could stand to wait to Jan, if I had the

date................but NO, got to see him again in Jan, then if

he is satisified with my being off cigarettes for 9 months, he will

set the date. He thinks he can come in from the back, do an

osteotomy or 2, and have me under for 6 hours & if I need more

surgery he would do it from the side a few days later. Besides

having Fl Bk I have 2 collappssed vetabrae, L2 onto L3 & L3 onto L4

I have seen 2 other Revision Drs, Dr Neuwirth & Dr Crandall & while

both desired me to quit smoking, both thought three months was more

than sufficient. All 3 were in agreement on how they would fix it.

So down & in so very much pain, walking is getting almost

impossible and without my Rolling to lean on it is.

I really want Boachie to do the surgery BUT I am deteriorating so

rapidly that if Boachie does not set a date for THIS Jan, I will

more than likely go back to Neuwirth & let him do it.

This waiting is terrible, and I am getting more & more deformed &

crippled, my clothes do not fit, I look awful & the depression is

getting worse as my walking gets worse, and I want this fixed

yesterday.

Oh Diane, what a quandry you're in, it's no wonder you're depressed!

While I can understand why Boachie wants to play it safe, you're

condition sounds almost unbearable. I don't really have any advise,

but just wanted to offer some words of support for whatever you and

your doc's decide is best, and please know that I'm thinking of you

and hoping you can find some relief and resolution in the near

future.

fighting this?

sherri; don't wear yourself down. best to try to get plenty of sleep and you must eat. mites really like it when your immune system is down. so, sleep and eat and you can only do so much. you are only ONE person.

How long have you been fighting this? This group is very helpful and you will learn many things here to help you in your fight. It's hard not to panic at the start especially when you don't know what you are dealing with but it will get easier and although I would love to tell you there is an easy way out of this, the truth is there is not! If you are at the start of this you are fortunate because when i got these 2 years ago I had no idea what to do. Many people on here have recovered from this and are kind enough to stay on here and give some great advice to us still fighting. Hang in there!
