Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group. You will find lots of information here and great people. I think your situation is similar to mine. I'm 55 and my original fusion done in 1962 lasted about 25 years with no problems. I had my first revision in 1988 and my second in 2001 so I am three years post op like you. I am fused from T4 to S1 with Isola rods. I have very limited mobility and developed neuropathic pain in my right leg due to scar tissue from the 2001 revision. The cartilage is gone in my left hip which is why I am having the hip replacement. The docs think it is due to the hips taking all the stress from the fused spine. I just try to keep on going and doing the best I can. For me, the most difficult thing is getting these doctors to understand my pain and daily limitations. Most of them just don't get it. Do you have basset hounds? I noticed you have " basset " in your e-mail address. If you do, you can e-mail me off list. I have two wonderful basset hounds that are like my children. We got them from a show breeder and our male has his conformation championship. Take care, Barbara in MO
