Hi ! I live in Essex County in NJ, west of the

Meadowlands. My husband works in Manhattan and it's

not too bad a commute. Dr Errico is doing an anterior

fusion using donor bone; followed by a posterior

fusion using screws and rods, both at L5-S1. It's

supposed to alleviate the pain; give me the disc

height back (disc is " obliterated " ); fix my grade 2

spondylolisthesis (slipping L5 vertebra) and give me

back some of the missing lumbar curve. You are right,

we just may end up roomies together! If we aren't

getting good enough pain management, have bad nurses,

or something - we could both gang up on them! Two

voices are better than one. Actually, I heard the

Hospital and it's nursing staff are very good so I

really don't expect problems. When are you going for

pre-surgery testing? Mine is Tuesday, October 26 at 10

am. If you are the same, maybe we can lunch together.

Feel free to email me directly at suttoncgnj@...

also. -Kathi in NJ

Hi!

My pre-surgical testing is on Monday the 25th. Too bad it's not the

same day as yours! Lunch would've been fun.

I'm not sure yet what time my surgery begins on Nov. 3rd, but I'm

assuming it's early morning because it's supposed to take around 8

hours or so. He's removing my 2 existing rods, then basically doing

a complete re-do with new rods and screws, extending my fusion up to

T1 and down to my sacrum. So unfortunately when we do meet we'll

probably be seeing each other at our worst! Nevertheless, I'm

really looking forward to meeting you! I'm supposed to be in the

hospital for 7 days, then moved to another floor for re-hab for

around 10. How many days for you?

,

Good luck with your November plans. I hope everything works out for you. Hang in there.

Blessings,

november

First off where did 2006 go? October really sucked here in nh. Things that sucked.

1. hubby nana in and out of hospital and the drama with it.

2. brother being very ill and in hospital. still not fully well.

3. racing being rained out and rescheduled.

4. my weight up

5. tax bill

6. NO WORK for hubby. He is flat rate and when there is no work no pay.

7. kids needed some restructing of there time. No tv until 7 pm every school night.

8. fil getting laid off

9. fighting with my dad. we had major blow up. even though he apologized the hurt runs deep.

10. AND hubby and I are just not on the same page PERIOD...

So I need to work on some of these areas. I need to stop being everyone sounding board. That is where it leads to drama. His nana calls me bad mouths the family. His sister calls me and bad mouths the nana. So going to talk less on phone. Going to be unavailable.

I need to work on my weight. I did some journaling last night trying to get to the core of my issues. Will let you know whatn comes of that.

What were your kids for halloween? Mine were a rebel rock star and scary clown.

My NOV goals to lose as much weight. Flylady a must. Less chat on phone. MORE organizing. Nov is going to be key for me. If I dont meet some of my basic goals it may push me over the edge. I dont want depression to take me over. The mental games I play with myself. Also need to make better life choices for my health and family.

Hey - I know you are overwhelmed by life and all it shoveled at you in October, but I would recommend writing a list of everything that went right last month too and that you are thankful for. I don't want to parade on your rain (LOL), but this will help to keep you from getting sucked into a pit of depression. Especially now that we are into earlier dark afternoons with the time switch, dreary weather, etc.... Hugs, chin up!! Keep up the good work - FLY one step at a time!!
