Hello Everyone,

With 's suggestion, I joined this group in hopes that someone can point me

in the right direction and hopefully provide some comfort as well. I am only 28

years old and my scoliosis has put me on disability and stuck at home in chronic

pain most of the time. I had the Harrinton rods put in at the age of 17 and

then just 2 years ago I had a second surgery that I greatly regret. The surgeon

was supposed to get rid of an infection of my hardware, remove all of the

hardware, and deal with arthritis in my unfused lower spine. He only removed

one piece of the hardware, which caused my lower spine to appear to collapse and

I still have an infection. I am now hunched over (which I wasn't before the

surgery,) my legs hurt so bad that I can barely stand it, and I am very

anti-social because of the pain. My knowledge of scoliosis and flat back

syndrome are scarce, as I really don't even even know which vertebre are fused.

The surgeon that did my last surgery was Dr. Bradley Weiner at Methodist in

Downtown Houston, he refused to see me again after I reported problems with the

surgery to him. I then saw Dr. Francis in Houston, TX who informed me

that 6 more surgeries would be needed to correct the problem and my spine would

have to be broken. I am lost, confused, and scared....if someone could help I

would greatly appreciate it. Also, has anyone tried a brace just for support?

I have trouble walking and standing as my ribs and hip bone sit upon one another

on my left side. Sorry for the long introduction...

Thanks To Everyone,

Paige
