Guest guest
Here is an email I sent out this morning to my neurosurgeon, pain management doc, and pain management doc's PA. The PA has already failed to respond to two previous emails in which I reminded her that I am due for a pump-refill on Tuesday. Today, besides writing to her, I called her and left a voicemail. (At least her voicemail was still functioning, and she had not recorded any vacation or out-of-town message.) Anyway, I am having a good deal of pain once more and am supplementing with oral meds. I sure hope someone will respond one of these days . . . (sigh). URGENT -- PLEASE READ ASAP My Patient Therapy Manager stopped working abruptly after my last dose (around 11 p.m. last night). I got the visual icon indicating a successful dose, but not the accompanying beep. I replaced all four batteries with new Duracell alkaline AAAs. The screen is now covered with indecipherable computer-error-type script. The on-off button does not work. The PTM is unusable. I was receiving 4 mg morphine/24 hours (almost 1/4 of my daily intrathecal dosage) via the PTM. I was still having some breakthrough pain. The pump is due to be refilled on March 28. Now that the PTM has stopped working, however, I need help now. I will also try calling the Medtronic 800-number I would appreciate any help or insight that anyone may have. Thanks in advance,
