Guest guest
Barbara, Good luck with your appt! You're right - 7 weeks isn't too bad of a wait I hope that you're able to find some answers. I've forgotten - have you been diagnosed with flatback yet? Dr. Bridwell seems to have a very good reputation, so I am holding good thoughts for you to find some answers! Please keep us updated on how your appt goes! > > Just got a call back from Dr. Bridwell's assistant and have an appointment to see him on Monday, Sept. 20. To only have to wait seven weeks is pretty good. > > I need some answers. Still having the nerve pain and it's getting worse. Epidurals didn't help. Latest x-ray showed an increase from 69 to 74 degrees in curvature. Am hoping to have an EMG soon to help pinpoint exact nerve damage. Questions I am hoping to have answered: What's going on in my spine? Can it be corrected? If I have to live with the pain, will it get any worse, better, or stay the same? What might happen as I get older; how fast will the spine deteriorate? >
Guest guest
In case anyone is interested i have an appointment with Dr. Bridwell on Monday Sept. 27. Hope he has some answers for me because the sciatic pain in my right leg and foot is getting worse. I was aproved for a spinal stimulator and everything was all set for the trial. I spoke with the tech from Medtronic and he explained how the wires, inserted through a catheter via needle worked. I would have a little transmittor and if I was feeling pain the electrical impulse from the transmittor would block the pain with a warm feeling; kind of like an internal tens unit. Unfortunately, my pain doc couldn't even find a space in my spine to insert the needle. he said I had too much hardware and scar tissue. He said I was the first patient he ever had where he couldn't do the procedure and that he wouldd be discussing my case with his colleagues at a pain conference this November. He also said it looked like L2 was rubbing on L3 which is why he wants Dr. Bridwell to check it out. Kind of disappointing.
Guest guest
Barbara,Good luck with the appointment with Dr Bridwell - just wondering how far ahead you had to schedule the appt. I have the 5 page life history to fill out and get back to his office and then after he reviews that, I will get an idea of how long the wait will be. He really sounds like an outstanding surgeon! I would love to hear about how it goes. Good Luck!KateOn Sat, Sep 18, 2010 at 6:34 PM, Barbara S <barbara.stacey@...> wrote: In case anyone is interested i have an appointment with Dr. Bridwell on Monday Sept. 27.
