and others who responded about " well-meaning " advisors,

I want to second 's " Bravo. " Both for your insightful words

about " helpful " people and about the invisibility of pain. Reminds me

of Job's friends in the Bible. We must be doing something wrong ;-)

Since my husband is disabled (advanced Parkinson's Disease) we get a

double dose sometimes of " He seems so much better " coupled with " How

is your back dear? " Of course both of us have over-compensated for

years, so it is not just the " stupidity " of others. We have tried to

appear " healthy " and " normal. " Now that it is no longer possible for

my husband to do so, it has been quite interesting to see how others

react.

To everyone: I enjoy reading the digest daily and am slowly overcoming

my internet " shyness. " You are all remarkable and I learn something

every day from reading your posts.

Peace be with you today.

Louise
