hello everyone. i'm 28 yrs old and inherited scoliosis from my mom. I

had harrington rod surgery when i was 13, and i've been doing great

ever since, but my mom wasn't so lucky. she didn't have her first

surgery until she was 39 years old, and her surgeon did an awful job

and removed her hardware and fusion prematurely and 4 surgeries later

she has daily excruciating pain and is becoming crippled. she has no

quality of life and can barely do the day-to-day activites. i'm in

tears as i write this because i'm searching for a surgeon who has the

confidence, heart and skill to make one last effort to give her her

life back. she is only now 53 years old and has taken every pain

killer known and she misses doing the things she used to do. she had

to cancel easter dinner because of her pain and she missed out on my

niece's and nephew's birthdays and so many other events that she

loves. the worst part is i now live long distance from her and feel

so helpless. she can't live like this and she called me earlier today

crying. she is so hunched over that she had to go into the hospital

for an entire week. the hunching of her back has put severe strain on

her neck which created a bulging disk and is causing intense

migraines and head shakes. the purpose of my post is to seek out a

surgeon who will take a chance on my mom. most just turn her away

because of the condition she's in and she's already had 4 surgeries.

does anyone know of a surgeon who would consider operating on her??

at this point, we have no other choice. i can't sit and do nothing

and watch her wither away. we have tried physical therapy, pain

medication, everything, but the scoliosis keeps getting worse. she

desperately needs my help and i need yours. i hope this post touches

you, and i dont care what state the surgeon is in. i will fly her

anywhere. thanks for reading and hope to hear from you soon.

sincerely,

amydoodl
