Diane - all the best to you during your surgery! You're sounding like you have a very good attitude about everything, and I think that's most of the battle. I too am in my 50's and am looking at another revision somewhere down the line. My thoughts will be with you on the 27th and the 4th!

Thank you so very much Carole, my date has been changed to June 7th

as my husband's Mother passed away on Easter Sunday & I could not get

all the pre-op tests done in time & have a funeral too. Again thank

you so very much for your post. I hate to repeat myself but I feel so

alone & it really meant alot to me.

Dear Feisties, I have followed your stories for some time and have learned so much.I made the decision to have the Revision Surgery. So now, I can officially be put on the Post-Op list.Oh,how good it is to say those words- Post- Op. The operation was March21st,2005.Dr. Lagrone, assisted by Dr. Neilson for the Anterior. All went well.No complications. This amazed me ,as I am 66 years old.I did become allergic to morphine after 8 days. Hives all over. They quickly treated that problem.Put me on Ultram for pain.Tolerated that for about a week-then complete dehydration took over.Weaned off that. Have not taken anything for pain since 4 weeks post op.The operation took 10 hours. 1.Removal of Harrington Rod,T4-L4.2.Bilateral laminectomies with partial facetectomies L4-5,L5-S1. 3.A circumferential pedicle subtraction osteotomyL3.4. Posterior spinal fusionL4-5,L5-S1.5. Isola segmental spinal instrumentation T4-S1.6.Galveston pelvic fixation. 7. Morcellized allograft and local bone graft for

spinal fusion. So that is my story.Very impressed with Baptist St. s Hospital and all of the kind and compassionate people that cared for me. I can never thank Dr. Lagrone enough. The experience was beyond my greatest expectations. IPlus, I grew 2 inches. I'm upright, I can stand with straight legs,I can walk.I get x-rays in 6-weeks, to send to him.I am in N .C. More x- rays at 3 months to send. Visit him in Texas at 6- months. It was worth it to travel.Wish you all the best of luck with these difficult times. Thank God, for this site. Eileen,

I'm so happy to hear that your surgery went well. Did you have both

anterior and posterior in one day? My husband wants me to ask you --

how how soon after your surgery were you able to travel (fly?) back

to North Carolina? Hope you will continue to post on how you are

doing and feeling. Again, I'm really happy for you and will avidly

read any other details you'll post; someday I hope to make a similar

trip to Texas for surgery. Sending lots of good wishes for continued

recover and wonderful health ahead,

loriann
