Guest guest
Hi all, I going to be renting a house with wall to wall carpeting. It has been 18 years since I lived with carpet. I want to hire a professional company to clean it. Does anyone have knowlege about which methods or cleaners would be best for an allergy sufferer. The house will be vacant for more than a month. We will arrive after Christmas. Thans, Pam
Guest guest
If you are allergic to dust mites, you might consider having the firm add a miticide to the cleansing solution. I do this myself twice a year. Karl W. What would you suggest for using as a solution in the carpet cleaner? My carpet cleaner is an upright Hoover and I don't want to clog it but could use some advice as to the best solution to kill these things in a " clean and kill " solution. Thanks all! God Bless you all in your daily battles, too! > > Lady Dee > I used Borax and vinegar with hot water. The best results with furniture and carpet for me was DE. If I was still dealing with these demons in the house I would try Orange Guard on everything, including furniture, then use the shampooer a few days later. The Orange Guard was not yet on the market when I was fighting the demons inside. The Orange Guard kills the insects outside which I believe to be springtail, it also works on ants. Kills them on contact. Good Luck.

Guest guest
I use strong citrus products like that for knockdowns in combination with a borate and an insect growth regulator. If I plan out what to spray first or before other things, this combo keeps critters from biting me while I am spraying them. katie > > > > > > > > > > Hi All, > > > > > > > > > > Question for those who have conquered these demons in the carpet. Guest guest
FYI - I sent an e-mail asking if Orange Guard could be used on hardwood floors and furniture - the owner answered that it may not be a furniture polish but that one of the side benefits of this product is that it cleans also. He said if you spray it on floors, to wipe it up because it will be very slippery (I guess after waiting a reasonable length of time to allow for it to work on the mites). ..... I came across Orange Guard and had been using cedarcide in my car and still getting bitten. Since using the Orange Guard in my car I have gotten no bites and it is a lot cheaper than the cedar. I do know that the visible bugs outside which I believe to be springtail flat drop dead on contact with the Orange Guard. So do ants. Please keep us posted on luck or lack of with the Orange Guard. I also like the fact I can spray it anywhere and get it at me local Ace Hardware and the cost is under $25.00.
Guest guest
I had excellent results from Orange Guard, too. I basically just use it wherever I see thing, like ants, spiders, even wasps and palmettos. It is a definite killer. If it isn't working on another source of biting it's probably another kind of issue.
