Guest guest
, Sorry but your doctor and ENT are completely uninformed or uninformed. I have one of the worst reactions you can to aspirin and I was able to be desensitized to aspirin very smoothly not once but twice. It was in the hospital and I felt completely safe and never seemed to be in any danger at all. They treated it as a medical emergency, but one for which they were prepared. If you get desensitization done by the right people at the right place, it can be done. Any doctor who thinks otherwise is just uninformed about the process. Desensitization is specifically FOR people like you and me, and may even work BETTER in those who have a more severe reaction. In terms of what you took today, I don't know if it had aspirin or not, but if it has ibuprofen or any other of the NSAID class (not including, for most people, the COX-2s -- most are okay with these) then you will have the same reaction or very similar as to aspirin. If you are unclear what these are, you should make sure you find out.
