Hi Tami, I can't believe its been so long since I've checked in to this site but my Mom has been critically ill (now on Hospice) and all I have time for is family and alittle work. So sorry for the delay to respond--and in answer to your question about what tea for my headaches, it is consistently plain old hot black tea, Lipton or Red Rose. Keep it basic. Add sugar if you want but no cream or milk. I don't think it's the caffeine because other caffeinated drinks (cola, coffee) will make the headaches worse, not better. I think it is the polyphenols that have the healing effect. Regarding Sage, i hear its really good for the lungs. In general for infection or prevention of, I'd recommend "Canela" Cinnamon sticks boiled for tea-a very potent antibacterial/antifungal--also used daily--powerful for lowering triglycerides and bad cholesterol) For

pain, Ginger is a powerfyl analgesic. For general respiratory problems, Turmeric is said to have steroidal like potency as an inflammatory and has amazing other health benefits. I don't get rebound headaches from aspirin. In fact I can count on aspirin to chase away pain for me. Strange that chewing alleviates your pain. Is there any chance you have an underlying dental problem? I just went thru something as such which is why I ask. Tami, I don't think I could have ever gotten healthier had I stayed in the house I first got sick in. There was a mold issue there and my best efforts to control moisture conditions ($75K worth) plus my own health condition were all elusive and expensive. When I left there, my body screamed relief. I was totally healthy for almost 2 years

upon leaving. Best thoughts. Liz Tami Klumpyan <tami@...> wrote: Hi Liz, Thanks for the advise. I actually don't get much nausea with my everyday headaches. Sometimes I'll get what I call the wrap around headaches and those nauseate me, or if I spend too much time on the computer. This is going to sound strange, but when I eat I feel no pain in my

head. This is 100% all the time, for the last 10 years. But it only lasts while I am chewing the food. If I didn't have false teeth, I'd be chomping on gum all day long, 24/7. I started on the nortriptyline last night. No response for my headaches yet, but today I can feel the cold air. It's kind of weird. It can be 20 below zero and it doesn't feel cold, but now it even feels cold in my house. I'm still avoiding pain pills, but am eating gummy bears like their going out of style to relieve some of the headache pain. I'd imagine a week of eating to stop pain will give me a bit of a tire around my middle. As long as it's not a tractor tire, I'll live with it. I just got some sage for making tea. I guess it's supposed to be a natural anti-biotic. What type of tea do you drink? Do you think it's the

caffeine in the tea that helps? I've tried ice on my forehead and it makes my headaches much worse. But heat works pretty well. I'll be getting that out soon. Are you desensed? You mentioned aspirin for your headaches. If you are desensed, do you get rebound headaches from taking it every day? I had every sinus completely cleaned out last March. Within a month my frontals were completely shut down. I believe it was the mold in my house. Now the mold is gone, and the dang frontals are still being a pain. I can't believe two weeks of a steroid taper isn't helping at all. You know, if my sinuses ever start really draining it will probably be the most euphoric moment in my life. Tami rebound meds Tami, I hope you'll feel better soon... Whatever the Docs want to call them, sinus headaches or migraines, for me I know the etiology of bad headaches was/is Samters. When mine were really bad and constant, I'd throw up alot and couldn't move without extreme

pain. Even trying to sleep could be excruciating. But a sinus clean out did ultimately help me. Now that my polyps are under control, a couple of aspirin and 2-3 cups of strong hot black tea over a couple of hours really help me when they come along. Also ice on my head and neck and no movement for a couple of hours. With something chronic, I don't know if this will help but it saves me sometimes. The tea for some reason really does help but eat something light (not heavy) before and or after the tea so you don't get nauseated from its strength. Again I hope you'll feel better. Liz Tami Klumpyan <tamipowerweb (DOT) net> wrote: I want to touch on a fairly new subject for me. I did not know that taking

pain pills everyday, whether it be aspirin or Demerol can cause a rebound affect and keep the headaches going. I went to see a neurologist Wed. and he feels strongly that the new headaches I've been getting this last year are migraines. He also said that many sinus headaches are misdiagnosed and should be labeled migraines and treated as such. So I am starting on a low dose anti depressant called Nortriptyline. I usually get quite violent on anti depressants but will give this a try. I'm also going off all my pain meds for a week to see if some of my headache pain is from med rebound. Tramadol doesn't always work for me and sometimes makes the headaches worse, plus sometimes even the Demerol doesn't take the headaches away. My body needs a break and since I'm not working and have no obligations for the next week I thought it would be a good time to detox from all these damn pills. I

also have a whole head ct next week. He'll be checking the drill sites in my brow bones and check my brain. I do not have classic migraine symptoms. I am not sensitive to light. I can still watch tv with a headache, but my headaches do get worse as the day goes on and if I am at all active (just walking around the house even). I've got nothing to lose by trying something new. I'm on my 3rd week of anti-biotics and into my 3rd week of prednisone. I have not seen any difference from either of these meds. I still run a low grade fever everyday. My fatigue is getting a little better on some days though. I'll update you on how this migraine med works. Has anyone else taken this? Any luck? Hi Liz,

The weirdest thing happened last weekend. We went on holiday, and the first two days stayed in a hotel with no pool. My pressure headaches went completely away! I also had luck with drinking cola with caffeine for my hard headaches. I'm very careful to only drink a few ounces to avoid the rebound headaches. It's been working on my hard headaches for a week now. Our last two days were spent in a waterpark and the minute I got into this hotel my pressure headaches returned with a vengence. I actually drank beer to take away these headaches and it worked beautifully. I didn't get nauseating headaches the next day at all. In the last week I've only taken pain pills one day. It proved to me that I wasn't addicted to the pain pills. A relief! I am convinced even after removing the mold, my house is still making me very sick. I am sealing all chemicals in plastic containers and I will see if this makes a difference. I am also going to have my air tested again for mold. What I need is a lottery win or to sell my music. Prayers from you all would be so much appreciated. I am feeling very optimistic now since I have seen light at the end of the tunnel. I can believe you spent 75k on trying to fix your house. It's a maddening process. The timing for all of these expenses is so lousy since I lost 75% of my income last summer with my lost strawberry crop. Bad timing for a rare occurance. I'm starting to feel everything about me is rare.

I'm going to try the teas you recommended. Thank you.

I'm sorry to hear your mom is so sick. I lost my father when I was 25 and know this must be so hard for you. I'll say prayers for her.

Please take care of yourself and take a little time for yourself. Be selfish for an afternoon and go do something enjoyable.
