Thank goodness for the baskets in stores. The only way I can do any shopping is if I have a cart to lean on to relieve my back and leg pain. My doctor thinks I have fibromyalgia also so I know how much pain you are having. Joan

Hi Jan

I did not take any other meds except for ibuprofen 800mg with my cymbalta. I am not into strong meds for pain. I do know if I do not take these 2 meds in the morning, I will feel really bad by mid afternoon. I have been off work for a year now. When I was working I was active walking most of the day, cleaning etc. I worked for Petco. I did all the cleaning of animal cages 2 times a week. even though I had some pain, I feel the active work kept me going. Now I feel like my legs do not want to go much. I can not walk for more than about 10 min unless I am in the store holding onto the basket. My sister says get a cane, as she has the same problem I do... but worse. she had surgery. she is alot better, but she is not as phyical as I am. I still go a couple times a day, taking my son in law to work and picking him up, plus my daughter and I watch a couple little ones in our home. lifting the baby is ok but I can not hold her for long before my back starts to hurt.I will be going to my pain managment dr next month. I also plan to apply for disability. They also think I may have fibromyalgia due to all the pain I have all over my body daily most 24 hours. I guess everyone is different in their pain level and tolerance. also everyone reacts differently to meds. as I told before, my only reaction to 30mg cymbalta was sickness to my tummy for about 2-3 weeks I think.. then it went away. when they upped my cymbalta to 60mg I had the same thing, but only a few days. Now I could not live without my cymbalta!

Shanna,Thanks for your information. I am so sensitive to medication that I would be more inclined to start with 20mg of Cymbalta and work up if I need to. I spoke to the nurse at the Doc Wonderful's office and told her what I would like to do (rather than jump from 7 days of 30mg and then full speed ahead to 60mg) and she argued with me that they come in 20mg. She finally looked them up and said oh yeah I guess they do, but the recommended dosage is 60mg. She is going to check with Doc W and get back to me tomorrow. If he says no, I will call my GP and see if the nurse pract. will do the above.Do you or did you take Neurontin/Gabapentin before or during starting the Cymbalta?Glad you are getting relief and feeling better.Jan (JP)> > >> > > Have they ever mentioned the word Sciatica? That is usually when the pain goes down to your foot and then the numbing in the foot is nerve damage. This can be part of spinal stenosis. Hope Fran will answer you. I got sciatica so bad that suddenly I could not get out of bed. That is when I finally had a Laminectomy but until that point you might try pain shots administered under anesthesia. Some people use Lyrica but I couldn't. This manifests itself in different ways. I could not stand for very long in one place or walk for any amount of time-which like you I was able to do. I did both epidurals and physical therapy before having the neurosurgeon do my back. Oxycoton helped me towards the end and I had read about it here but I did not want to take that for very long. > > > > > > lie> > >> >>
