Singulair question

Happy New Year all!!

here is a question to get things going. I have taken singulair for a year now and think it may be helping a lot, to a point where I have reduced my pulmicort and serivent. I take 10mg's a day. I have seen posts that some indicate that Samters patients do better on 20 mg's. I am seeing my pulmonologist this week and wonder if I should ask him to up the dosage to 20 mg?

Any thoughts?

Dear Tom from Maine,

You should only up the dose if you feel it is necessary, otherwise stay at 10 mg. I take 10 mg. also per day. But I also take Advair, Zertec, Nasacort, and Ibuprofen (I'm desensitized). Try not to take too much medicine if you can prevent it. Just my thoughts on the matter.

I keep thinking about trying him on Cimeditine. In fact, I called his

doc a few months ago to check on it - and thought then I that might

wait.

They just called me back a few weeks ago to see if I wanted to try it

now - but I told them no.

I know we go in around Dec. again for a check up - so I might look into

then . . . I too would be very interested in hearing if some people

have had good or bad results with both of them.

My daughter ended up breaking through the cimeditine after having two months of

no fever. My doctor felt that once she broke through it would happen again, so

we stopped using it. Everyone seems to have different results.
