Guest guest
Hi allThere is no cauterization approach to polyp proliferation. Whoever says that by cauterizing the polyps stops their growth, he's lying big time.I bet you my future Ferrari to show me any proof that this type of intervention stops nasal polyp growth. Scientific published scientific article or a reliable source only. It's not possible by nowadays' otolaryngology standards. Nasal mucosa cauterization is done only to stop chronic ephistaxis and few other pathologies.I can clearly remember hearing my ENT Professor saying that this is a joke. That ENT is a fraud if he promised stopping polyp growth by nasal cauterization.Sergiu, 2nd year general surgery residentFrom: Stefano <skunkburner@...>Subject: http://www.revolutionhealth.com/forums/asthma-allergies/89004To: samters Date: Tuesday, August 24, 2010, 5:06 AM Guys i just read this on a blog, very interesting My daughter is 13 and has just had her third polyp surgery. We have battled these polyps for four years now. We have gone the allergy, SInus Wars (doesn't work), diet, surgery, and homeopathic routes. She had all the blood work (about 8 vials worth), asthma, and cystic fibrosis testing. All negative! The las surgeon told us there is no way that a little girl should have her polyps grow back every year. He sent us to California Sinus Institute in Palo Alto Ca. Within 5 minutes of walking into the room this awesome Dr. told us what type of polyp she had, how she got it, and that he could remove it with only a 5% chance of recurrence. He actually searches out the root and cauterizes it so that it will not grow back. Our other drs. told us that it was not possible to kill a polyp. We just watched the surgery dvd tonight and it sure looked like he killed it to me. The nurses at Stanford said that people travel form everywhere to get his help. There was actually a gentleman who had 12 nasal surgeries who came to get fixed by him. He will be seeing our daughter every month or so and sending a scope up her nose to see if anything is growing back. He said that if so he will cauterize it then and there. I have never posted on a blog before. I just know that I spent hours on the internet searching for an answer with no luck and great expense. I hope that this post will help someone who is having trouble so that they can find some help. Good luck to all of you who are battling polyps. Guest guest
Sergiu he’s more than a fraud, he’s someone who’s out to make money out of people who suffer with this dreaded disease. I’ve had my polyps cauterized but was told that this was to lessen the bleeding afterwards and would make no difference to the growing back at all.
