, What a record for a Samters patient! Continued health to you... I've had a lower incidence of infection since I became careful about disinfecting. Jane and Ellie, thanks for the recommendation for cleansing/rinsing. I will definitely follow up on your recommendation. The main issue would be burning I would think more than anything because even if there is a little bit of residue, it would be very dilute when you next irrigated. While I don’t necessarily endorse this practice for everyone, all I do to clean my Waterpik is rinse it with a full reservoir of warm tap water after I use it to irrigate. I irrigate twice a day. There was a discussion about this at some point in the past, both the disinfecting and using straight, unfiltered, not boiled tap water. I have cleaned my

Waterpik a total of once with a small amount of bleach and that was after having used it twice a day for over a year. So my personal opinion is if whatever you are doing works, stick to it. I don’t tend to be overly paranoid about germs and I don’t tend to get sick so I am not going to start over sanitizing things. I have had 2 sinus infections that I can recall since starting with the Waterpik and they were exactly one year apart, to within like 2 days, which makes me think they were seasonal and not related to anything else I was doing. I don’t recall having a cold in that time period or any other illness. Hi All, Question: Every night I disinfect my NeilMed Sinus Rinse bottle by giving it a thorough swish of mouthwash. I rinse the bottle out really well before my sinus rinse. Can anybody tell me that I should not do this (and why)? Is it any more toxic than using alcohol to rinse the bottle? Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search.
