Guest guest
I read something about irrigating with 1/2 water 1/2 peroxide - on the surface it seems to make some sense to help kill bacteria - has anyone tried this? Just wondering what the result was.thanksTC
Guest guest
TC, The person who wrote this paper you read wanted to kill his readers. If you irrigate with 50% hydrogen peroxide, your mucosa will burn, peel off, and all your nasal fossa will be one large, bleeding wound for a very long time. At this dose, it might even result in oxygen embolism (ie an oxygen bubble entering the bloodstream) and death. More reasonable people suggest 7-8 drops of 3% H2O2 in 500ml saline : http://www.christinas-home-remedies.com/nasal-irrigation.html but I have never tried this. High-dose H2O2 is great, however, to disinfect any irrigation device after use. > > I read something about irrigating with 1/2 water 1/2 peroxide - on the surface it seems to make some sense to help kill bacteria - has anyone tried this?
