Guest guest
Brushing my teeth used to cause an asthma attack. I switched to non-mint toothpaste and discovered it was the mint. I have been on aspirin for a few years and a few months ago I used mint toothpaste by mistake and had no reaction. Let us know how your sensitivities go before and after you get pregnant. And good luck with that project, too. Guest guest
Sorry to hear you went off aspirin. I went off 1300 mg a day in prep for surgery and never successfully re-sensitized. Just a warning, as it has been said a hundred times, aspirin de-sense is tough and if I had to do it again, I wouldn't have gone off my 1300 mg daily regiment. Regarding mint, my dermatologist of all people told me that aspirin sensitive people would also be sensitive to spearmint (and maybe she said other mints.) I'm sure someone will post with the reason if it isn't already in the archives. > > i just wanted to pass on that because i will be trying to get pregnant in the next few months > i have decided to go off my aspirin. i had been on 81mg a day for about 8 months now and > have now been off it for 3 days. i took a small burst of prednisone to have a nice clean open > nose while i do this. so far so good, i am nervous to see what happens and if i will be > visiting Polyp City anytime soon. but the prednisone has helped me smell right now so that > is nice. i will keep everyone posted. and i would love to hear what happened to others who > have done this. > another question, does anyone also have a sensitivity to mint? before my desens i could not > have anything mint, even toothpaste, without having a wheezing attack. the desens changed > that but i am interested to see if after all the asa is out of me if that will reverse. > i plan on continuing all my natural and herbal things to help with this transition. > laura >
Guest guest
, I will be praying for you. Once you are pregnant, you may find that you feel really good and dont have the Samters symptoms as severely. That's how it was for me. If I wasn't almost 50 I might try to get pregnant again myself!!! Right now I am a wreck. As in nervous wreck! I am 8 days off from surgery (deviated septum) and down to 81mgs of aspirin. I am having allergy symptoms so I am worried that I am becoming sensitive again on this lower dose. I am also worried that I am going to bleed too much during surgery. I am supposed to be taking Prednisone but it is giving me severe migraines within 15 minutes of taking it. Are we not just the weirdest folks on the planet??? I have a theory. I'm thinking that we are all brothers and sisters from an Alien race accidentally dropped off on the wrong planet! What do you think? Anyone have a better explanation for all of this fun we live with? Blessings to you all!
