Guest guest
Hi Kent, Are you sure that you are fully desens on that dose? The reason I ask is that I was desensitized slowely here in the UK and for about 6 weeks I was not fully desens and I had headaches and generally felt unwell (really exhausted). Then when I was fully desens this unwellness went, as did the headaches. If so, how many days/weeks/months did they last? Have any of you discontinued taking aspirin due to headaches?I was desensitized 8 (eight) weeks ago and currently am only taking 81 mg daily. The headaches started on the same day as the desensitizationprocess and have been fairly consistent since. Thanks for your input. Guest guest
Hi Becky, Thanks for your response. When I was desens. I was taken up to approx 465 mg in half a day. I was then put on the daily dose of 81 mg with the option of increasing this amount as my ENT saw fit. Can you tell me more about the second " full " desens. you went through? If you don't mind me asking, what daily dose are you on now? Thanks. Kent
Guest guest
No headaches but I had stomach issues for about 2 weeks. Thankfully no longer a problem. I take the coated aspirin. > > For those that have been desensitized, did you experience low grade headaches afterwards? If so, how many days/weeks/months did they last? Guest guest
Hi Becky, Has your SOS and taste returned with being on 600mg daily? I assume the polyp regrowth has slowed with the aspirin intake. My goal is to get some SOS and taste back (some success already) and to reduce the polyp regrowth. I talked with my Allergist's nurse today about my headaches, fatique and general malaise and she is going to discuss this with the Doctor. She couldn't understand the headaches while being on a daily 81mg dose of aspirin. I mentioned the notion of not being successfully desensitized and she disagreed. Are headaches a sign of not being fully desensitized? I don't know. I think a higher dose might be appropriate but will wait to talk with the doctor. Dr. Knight is a veteran of desensitization in Toronto but does it in half a day not over a period of weeks. My ENT tells me that if more surgeries are required he wants me completed off aspirin for two weeks before as I have had fairly significant bleeding with my two previous operations while not being on aspirin.
