Guest guest
The only time my sense of smell seems to return is when I've been on prednisone and of course my sense of taste improves incredibly. If only there was a safe magic pill we could take to have our SOS return I'd buy it by the bucketload. Having a gas oven and hotplates plus gas heating it's always at the back of my mind that there could be a gas leak and I'd never know. Not to mention of course other safety matters such as a petrol leak etc.Oh to be able to smell the simplest of things such as freshly cut grass or the ocean.samters From: anthony.ansara@...Date: Fri, 22 Apr 2011 08:30:42 -0400Subject: Re: Loss of SOS Hi guys, I love how this guy talks about putting less importance to SOS. This guy is insane. Would he address blindness with the same written tone? I’m left handed so maybe this guy would have preferred to tie my hand behind my back and force me to use my right!! Studied too much of Freud perhaps. As for complete loss of SOS, I don’t believe in such a thing. There has been around 25 times in the last 12 years where my SOS has decided to say Hello. It’s like an old buddy dropping by that you only have good memories of!!! LOL I will continue to try and find a solution for loss of SOS until I get it back. As you know, I believe in a balanced approach between modern medicine and natural remedies. Medical doctors, as helpful as they are, no nothing of the later, and do not care too!! Guest guest
I can so relate to that. Just had a dose of prednisone and can smell the coffee.....and the slight gas leak!!! It is getting fixed this morning. Re: Loss of SOS Hi guys, I love how this guy talks about putting less importance to SOS. This guy is insane. Would he address blindness with the same written tone? Guest guest
, I think that there is still a lot of hope to be had because, as has pointed out, the SOS is often not definitely lost (which may happen, but does not seem to be the case). In fact, once you suppress the inflammation of the olfactory area/nerves, the SOS comes back after some time. This is why steroid courses often temporarily restore the SOS. Now, the difficulty is to suppress the inflammation permanently, which means it is necessary to find its cause. > > > The only time my sense of smell seems to return is when I've been on prednisone and of course my sense of taste improves incredibly. > > If only there was a safe magic pill we could take to have our SOS return I'd buy it by the bucketload.
