Guest guest
I am going in for my 4th surgery. As I recall the first couple of days afterward are really really difficult. The first full week after is hard. Then after that it gets better and better with each day. After a month or month and a 1/2 you start to feel pretty good. Breathing through the nose again and smelling again are always a great and interesting experience after going without for so long. I remember after my 3 surgery being reminded what bacon smelled like. I had forgotton I guess , but when I had that first whiff it was like - Holy Cow! Then I smelled my baby's diaper - not so fun. That's why people complain about poopy diapers! It was nice knowing when to change my baby though. Then I smelled homemade cinnamon rolls and all the Christmas smells - that was soooo nice. Good luck with your surgery. It's not really fun but it is usually worth it.
