Guest guest
Regretfully, many docs overgeneralize from the danger of chronic use to the dangers of short-term use. One of my correspondents, who is a practicing physician, wrote to me "The role of steroids in treatment of all types of respiratory inflammatory problems has really changed over the past 5-10 years with much earlier initiation and better/quicker resolution. There does not seem to be much long term down side to the use of a short course of systemic steroids." If you want to learn more about the side effects of adrenocortical steroids, use a good search engine and search for +prednisone +"side effects" or for +Kenalog +"side effects" -- you will get a lot of good hits. I have linked a few of them on my Kenalog page, to which I refered in my last post. Re: Digest Number 209 Prednisone should be a last resort. If you take it all the time it justdestroys the whole immune process, and messes up the GI flora. If you havedoctors who look at prednisone as a last resort, I think you're lucky. Guest guest
I have not gone the aspirin desensitization route. Instead, I avoid it.
