Guest guest
Hi , Tomatoes high, also high in natural MSG, check this link, also available in the library: http://www.zipworld.com.au/~ataraxy/Salic_03.txt run right down the list -herbs and olives also high. The Feingold list was the first, refined by the Australians during the last few years. Some failsafe members react to wheat/gluten. Corn high. Chocolate power high. It might be worthwhile to join the failsafe support group for a little while, as they might have lists of additive free products to make your life easier. A saving grace: " Cuddle and kissing " is still allowed! Rietjie >>> christinealexandrou@... 11/02/04 08:29AM >>> For those on low salicylate diets whats the verdict on fresh tomatoes? I know tomato sauce affects me everytime i eat pasta or pizza -(probably that also italian always has basil oregano olives added). However from the Feingold list fresh tomatos are low/medium salicylates. Also what is the verdict on bread and wheat corn etc..cereals I seem to read wheat is high in salicylate but no tables and flour has sulphur dioxide (is it ok though after cooking) Also why is chocolate a no no thanks guys __________________________________________________
Guest guest
HI all. Just curious. I've heard so many times when people eat certain foods high in salicylites it effects them. How exactly does it effect people? For me, either I'm having a bad head day or I'm not. I don't specifically notice anything that hits me right away. Thanks, Tami in Wis. Guest guest
Dear Rietjie Thanks ,I'll stick the new list on my fridge and visit Failsafe frequently and see if I can get the books. I m still trying to get to do the cast elisa 2000 but is not available here in Cyprus and neither in England yet.Need to travel to Switzerland or Germany! I think if accurate would be of tremendous help for us as we struggle with elimination diets etc... My instinct (and what I like to beleive)is that we are more likely to be reacting to artificial then 'natural' stuff but until then I shall exercise caution- On top of that like you said companies adding extra Salicylate to crop -I mean what kind of synthetic salycilate is that-Which reminds me I was always baffled when a house plant was dying my mother used to say : put an aspirin in the pot and it will be revived !? Any recipe with bamboo shoots ?(kidding) Rietjie Bresler <RBresler@...> wrote: Hi ,Tomatoes high, also high in natural MSG, check this link, also available in the library:http://www.zipworld.com.au/~ataraxy/Salic_03.txtrun right down the list -herbs and olives also high.
