I am trying to learn as much about Human Growth Hormone as possible! I am

seriously considering taking it, and would welcome all replys! What can you

tell me about it?

I take HGH and have taken it for a long time. I wouldn't be without it. I

don't know what it is but, it sure makes me feel 100% better. I don't feel

tired all the time and really love it.

Go ahead and give it a try but then, that's my opinion.

Hi back!

I ended up getting inventive, to be honest- I wanted to use the black

seed oil in soap, it had no SAP value I could find...ah, the joys of

soapmaking!

Peace,

Hi Lori,

My sinus is great, and I have my sense

of smell back BUT (there’s always a but isn’t there)

I was put in hospital because of my

asthma coming on hard and fast. Massive amounts of prednisone and now only just

being weaned off it. I have no idea why my asthma returned except that the

family went out for dinner one night and the restaurant was quite cold and the

next day I had what I thought was the start of a cold (I’d had a flu shot

earlier in the year). Next day my coughing was so bad that the doctor put my

straight into hospital with the worst case of asthma I’d ever had. Upshot is

he always wants me to have prednisone on hand and now to buy a portable

nebulizer.

At this time all things are back to what

I’d call normal but I have to admit, this time I was really scared.

Lori, At the moment I am having a really tough time with my asthma. It seems to have come out of no where. I cough and wheeze constantly. When I flew to Chicago this weekend I had to take albuterol treatments in the airport. I have to see my ENT tomorrow and I hope he can tell me something or else I am going to call for some prednisone.Lori Baur <lori@...> wrote: How is everyone doing out there? Mine cost about 80 bucks. Unfortunately I had it for years and I just threw it away because I tried so many times to find a home for it because I don't need it anymore.

Maybe your insurance would help pay for it?

On the other hand have you thought any more about aspirin desensitization?

Lori I would love to be desensitized

against aspirin but the problem is finding a doctor that is willing to do it.

My GP and others locally don’t do it nor does my ENT.

I recommend calling Scripps and seeing if they know of anyone in Australia who does it or where you could call in Australia. (That's where you are, right?)

Otherwise you'll have to keep problem solving or putting it out to the universe that this is your goal and then you can somehow find a way to do it.

Actually the problem is not finding a doctor willing to do it -- to frame it another way the problem is getting you to a doctor who will do it. There are doctors who will do it. They just might not be located near you.'

If you can afford one day to come to New York and if Dr. Bosso will see you and do the desensitization, he is 15 minutes from my house. You can stay with me. I do have a cat in case you are allergic.

Hi everyone: Hope you all are doing well. I haven't been on in awhile though I have been trying to keep up on reading the posts. I find it wonderful that this group is here! I just have a question... I had one sinus surgery in 2000 this was before I had Samter's Triad However, had a lot of Sinus Problems and Asthma. I got worse right after the surgery almost right away. Then I was diagnosed with Samter's in 2002. I am now about to have a 2nd Sinus Surgery in a few months because I am getting Sinus Infections about every 1 to 2 months. I also have been getting clogged ears, and ear infections, as well as eye problems and inflammation in my eyes from my Sinuses. Its getting bad with my one eye. I have a hard time seeing out of it.I look like I am crying all the time! So I am going to try the Sinus Surgery one more time. My question is repeating Surgery that didn't work the first time is it really

going to work a 2nd time, or am I just wasting my breathe here??I thought you guys would know best! Thanks so much, <soniarobins@...> wrote: Thanks Lori I’ll chase them up and let you know how I go and yes, I’m in Australia. I wonder if my medical insurance company would be so

kind as to pay for my air fare to New York? Business class of course – one can only dream lol. I’ll get myself into action and see if I can track down a doctor willing to do the desensitization. No problems

with cats, I have two of them myself – one with the attitude from hell, weighing in at 18 lb and he’s not fat. Cheers From: samters [mailto:samters ] On Behalf Of Lori BaurSent: Tuesday, 19 September 2006 3:51 PMTo:

of the sinus's, others include polypectomy, turbinectomy ,removal of

scar tissue

is to see someone who has done this surgery for years ,in a big

centre probably a teaching hospital. As you have had several surguries

consider religious nasal rinses,medications like

singulair ,zyflo, nasonex, symbicort.I cant comment on ASA

available treatments.Good luck hoping this helps you.>

I came off of the 2 week Prednisone taper 10 days ago, and the main

polyp shrank to nothing by the end. Already, though, I'm feeling the

early stage of that polyp again, and that passageway is starting to

close.

Since I live in China and also have a baby, having my sense of smell

back wasn't all it was cracked up to be:) Still, though, I hope I can

maintain this polyp at a decent size (not big enough to start

deforming my nose). If I can maintain it, I'm thinking there's no need

for surgery.

In answer to your earlier question, F.E.S.S. stands for Functional

Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. I think it's just the basic term for sinus

surgery. The 2 ways to approach F.E.S.S. are image guiding and

conventional method.

The Image guiding one goes for around $7,000 USD in Singapore, with

the medical standards as high as the U.S. I wouldn't dare get it done

in China. But I hope I can live without surgery (I'm only 29), though

many of you say you've already gotten several surgeries. What I'm

curious about is if most of you had multiple surgeries before you

realized you had Samters, or after.

Anyways, I'm now on Singulair, as well as Advair. So far, I haven't

had any morningtime runny nose issues like I've always had in the past.

I’ve had five surgeries and only

found out I had Samters after the 4th – in fact it was

actually great to have a name finally put to it. My surgeries were in

1979, 1982, 1991, 2001, 2005. I’m now 57.

Since I started on Nasonex daily my

polyps haven’t returned and ‘touch wood’ things seem to be

under control with my sinus. My asthma is another story though, it comes and

goes; the last two attacks being very serious. I’m back on Seritide daily

to help control things and so far so good. Every now and then though I’m

back on pred because of the asthma and that’s usually when I get my sense

of smell back which is delightful. Friends soon know when I have it back

because I’m forever sniffing spices/herbs in the pantry and just love

visiting the perfume departments in stores. A stranger would probably

think me very odd lol. Just visited a big country show about a month ago and

someone was complaining about the smell of the pigs and I comments how beautiful

it was. Yes, I got some very strange looks indeed. Unfortunately about

two weeks after I get off the pred. my sense of smell goes again.

I’ve heard about the surgeries

carried out in Singapore,

in fact it’s a very popular thing for Australians to go there as it’s

so cheap. This is for plastic surgery though, it’s been on television

shows here and the hospital facilities are excellent. I haven’t

heard anything about other types of surgeries though.

I’ll no doubt be up for more

surgery in the future but the end result so far is good.

Cheers

question I have for you is what are you going to do differently this time after

surgery to help delay or prevent future surgeries? There is a lot you can

do.

Good

luck!

Whilst Pred is a miracle drug in some

ways the side affects can be incredible. I get what I suppose you’d refer to

as anxiety attacks and I’m sure I could get all the housework done in minutes,

cupboards tidied up, the lot. Unfortunately it makes me put on weight as well.

The prospect of getting laid off in December would give anyone anxiety attacks

though and being on the pred. would definitely make you feel worse in that

respect I’m sure.

It’s good to know that your sinuses are

doing so well, let’s hope it keeps up.

Well its

day 4 after surgery. And I feel pretty good. I'm having one huge side effect

from the increased predisone levels. I'm having hugh anxiety attacks,

could be that I received the news that I might get laid off in December.

But this drug is making me think about it ten fold. I'm lost almost 10 pounds

in 4 days. I've been doing nasal rinses 3 times a day. Nasally this

is the best I have ever felt. I'll let you know how I progress.

Rex it’s good to hear

things have gone so well for you. I really like the idea of no packing, to me

that was the worst part of the surgery in having them removed. Hope

things continue to improve for you.

Re: hello out there

Just wanted to send out an update.. I had

my surgery on Monday morning. Things are going really well. My doctor did not

use splints or packing, instead he left it wide open. He had me start nasal

rinses within 24 hours after the surgery. He also put me on a predisone tapper

for 2 weeks. This was my 5th surgery and by far the best. I will let you know

how things progress.

Lori,

I've already started doing several things. Diet is the biggest, changing

what I eat and documenting what causes me problems. In the past

I wouldn't irrigate at all. I have already purchased a waterpik and sea salt. I havent been

able to use it yet because I'm so impacted. But trust me I will after this

surgery I will use it everyday.
