I saw

that article earlier today. I thought it was interesting because I am

actually allergic to that class of antibiotics and one of the reactions I had

was a severe rash all over my torso. It also spiked my blood pressure.

It was actually Avelox I had the reaction to but I avoid all of them, which

sucks because they are supposed to be really good for respiratory infections.

My last infection took 2 different antibiotics to kill as well as a third I had

to take to counteract the side effects from the first one… so not

fun. I am really hoping I can go longer than 3 months before my next

infection, this is getting really old. Otherwise, I am doing pretty well

right now, I can smell and taste most of the time and other than that annoying

drainage occasionally when I bend over, all is good… this time last

year I was completely stopped up and could only smell when on prednisone.

Does anyone have any suggestions to

prevent infections other than the normal routine of irrigating and all the

various drugs (Flonase, Singulair, Allegra)? I also think getting of the diltiazem

has helped, I was a lot stuffier on it than I am now. Of course, it could

just be I finally got rid of the sinus infection but I was done those

antibiotics before I was done with the diltiazem. Side effects suck!!! J

Lori’s aspirin sensitivity was as bad as yours and she was desensitized. Try to find some of her posts in the archives.
