Guest guest
Apparently Stiffman Syndrome (also called Stiff-Person Syndrome to be politically correct) is an auto-immune disease of the nervous system. I had the idea that it had a connection with autoimmune diabetes. In a nutrition book by Scala he mentions that in Greenland where they eat a large supply of marine mammals, etc. they don't have autoimmune disease (but do have strokes and epilepsy). I don't advocate chowing down on marine mammals, but to get one's biochemistry right by some means. I read once that gluten and a certain pathogen have similarities. The syndrome might be improved by vitamin D3 and calcium citrate like my daughter's diabetes has been (helps MS also). I have been doing some experimenting with vegetal silica which helps the bones store minerals. I did some research on Medline and it is a preventative with diabetes. Autoimmune disease seems to be more prevalent in people with northern ancestry who don't get enough sun, etc. J.
Guest guest
I am curious how prevalent autoimmune disease may be in our group.I have knee arthritis of some sort (awaiting medical diagnosis). My father had rheumatoid arthritis.Apparently there is an association between rheumatoid arthritis and Staphloccocus Aureus superantigen(science daily article). My interest may be why gammaglobulin therapy may be appropriate for me. Benefit vs risk.,I am now 57 years of age.Sincerely Wayne
