Guest guest
I have not tried Dr. Weil's diet, but from its composition : http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/ART02012/anti-inflammatory-diet it does look anti-inflammatory. Dr. Floyd Chilton promoted a diet with a similar inspiration a few years ago in a book called "Inflammation Nation". Basically, if you want an anti-inflammatory diet : - eat less carbs, and most importantly, less high-glycemic index carbs, - eat less refined, saturated, or Omega6-fats, and more Omega3s, - dont eat too much proteins, and more fish, less meat, or at least less fat meat, - eat fibers (vegetables and fruits), - drink water, some green tea. A few clinical trials have tested or are currently testing the impact of fish oils in asthma. If you take fish oils, I would recommend that you also take vitamin E and vitamin C to lessen lipid oxydation. > > Wow, 3 of us in the Denver area! Let's start a support group, ha. Guest guest
Thanks for that information about omega fatty acids, fish oil and supplementary vitamins. I've been off prednisone for 10 days now, and my sense of smell is going strong--it almost seems to be getting stronger, which I have no complaints about. If I can possibly go two weeks on the no/low sal diet and challenge myself, I'll tell you folks what happens. However, I'm finding that diet all but impossible to stick to 100% of the time!
