Guest guest
Hi , You have a lot of good information, thank you. One question; the epinephrine you refer to, is that the OTC Primatene mist? I was ordered to throw it all away by one doctor because he said that it could do the opposite or close me up instead of relief. I kind of liked it although it was harsher than albuterol. Guest guest
Hi Pam, That's interesting that you mention the Primatene Mist because I have been using it when I need something on the run as much as I use my albuterol inhaler. Actually, the racemic epinephrine that I had was in a small clear bottle for use in a nebulizer, but I had to mix .3 ml of it with a 1 ml (if I remember right) vial of saline solution. The doctors started using this on me when I would go into the hospital with an asthma attack, and no matter how many breathing treatments they gave me with albuterol and oxygen, I wouldn't stop wheezing and coughing. They also administered it when I went through aspirin desense at Scripps when the nebulized albuterol would not stop my wheezing. After that time, my asthma practitioner (an allergist at Scripps Clinic) sent me home with a small bottle of the stuff and some vials of saline to use with it. Unfortunately, I do not have any now, but wouldn't hesitate to ask for it again if the wheezing becomes too bad. > > Hi , > > You have a lot of good information, thank you.
