Guest guest
I have been taking prednisone on and off for over twenty years. From my own experience, there are different names and doses, but when it comes down to it they are all steroids. They can't possible be good for us long term due to all the known side effects. But if you are having trouble breathing whether due to an infection or a flare up the only real relief is prednisone, at least for me. I try to keep it as my very last resort, but you definetly know when you need it. I have learned personally through the process of elimitation how to avoid going on a steriod, although I do need them a few times a year. Some docs are so quick to put you on them because of the results, being patient really helps. You may be very surprised to find how many little thing we can do to help ourselves. It,s not fun and it's not easy, I have had to basicly change my whole life style, but I do get more relief. I would seriously check out the Kenalog verses Prednisone you may be surprised in the likeness and side effects. I surely would like to know?? Be careful.
