Guest guest
HI all, I have just returned from my latest round trip to Addenbrookes, Cambridge to see Dr Nasser. My main issues with Samters now that I am desensitised are my sinuses, which are permanently chronically infected despeite constantly taking a range of antibiotics and doing my nasal/sinus rinses 3x daily. Plus my SoS is non-existant unless I have a big course of predisolone. We had decided to try me on some other antibiotics (Azithromycin) to see if that works. Does anyone have any experience with this antibiotic? I tend to get colitis with erythromycin-type antibiotics so am not looking forward to starting this particular one. Anyway, I'm going to have a week off antibiotics, then get a sample of what is actually groing in my sinuses. I am also going to have my first CAT scan in years soon and my next appointment is a joint one with Dr Nasser and his associated ENT surgeon with the thoughts of possibly sorting out my frontals. It has been just over 9 years since my first and last operation for Samters, and apparently I don't even need to stop taking aspirin for this operation, although I am quite suspicious of this as I do bleed/bruise badly with cuts/accidents. I'll let you know how I get on. Also, Dr Nasser was just wondering how those were getting on with being desense via the dissolved aspirin drops into the nose...has anyone here been desense this way? Has this form of desensitiation worked long term? Regards Becky (Somerset, UK)
