Hi Will,

What is FESS surgery?

What are you doing for the polyps? For most Samters folks, multiple modalities are required to keep the polyps under control including irrigation, steroid nose spray and a leukotriene inhibitor.

My polyps got really bad this summer from I don't know what -- lots of plane flights didn't help. I did go on a burst of prednisone but mostly so I could get the irrigation up there and the Nasonex.

Will, I say if it is growing where it is not suppose to be then take it out. I had my surgery in April and I am doing better. I still have some wheezing but over all I am fine. Will Brock <ey_groupie@...> wrote: I'm back on the site after 10 months off. 9 months ago, I went on the 2 week Prednisone taper, and was doing better. tilt my head up, and can feel it just by sticking my finger up only a little bit into the nostril. My nose is even getting slightly deformed/swollen because of it. I saw an ENT specialist who diagnosed me with chronic sinusitis and "totally blocked" sinuses. Is it time for the occasional evil of FESS surgery? I've never done it before, and don't know if I should work instead on other options (Singulair) to reduce the polyp(s) enough to a bearable size. Thanks,Will Brock

Do the surgery! It is not that bad and

once your sinuses are clear, you can start a routine that will hopefully keep

things on the right track but as long as you are full of polyps you will have

a lot of problems.

I'm back on the site after 10 months off.

9 months ago, I went on the 2 week Prednisone taper, and was doing

better. But 3 months back, I started to notice a polyp that has grown

bigger and lower in my left nostril. I can see it in the mirror when I

tilt my head up, and can feel it just by sticking my finger up only a

little bit into the nostril. My nose is even getting slightly

deformed/swollen because of it. I saw an ENT specialist who diagnosed

me with chronic sinusitis and " totally blocked " sinuses.

Is it time for the occasional evil of FESS surgery? I've never done it

before, and don't know if I should work instead on other options

(Singulair) to reduce the polyp(s) enough to a bearable size.

Thanks,

Will Brock
