Do I have to take Prednisone before surgery?

Ok - I'm looking for opinions. I'm going in for my 2nd surgery on the 23rd of

Dec and my ENT has put me on 40mg of Prednisone for 2 weeks and then 2 weeks

tapering off.

The problem is - I was just on a 10 day supply of Prednisone within the past

month.

I'm wondering what are others thoughts on not taking the Prednisone before

surgery. I'm really NOT wanting to go through another round so soon.
