Guest guest
There's also a new version of the faddish book " The Zone " called " The Anti-inflamation Zone " , which specifically discusses the arachidonic acid cascade. I've been very interested in the idea of eating to lower my leukotriene activity, and may buy this if my baloney detector allows me the indulgence of a diet book purchase. The lowfat seemed smart but I think the theme of the book is to *displace* the oils that are broken down to form arachidonic acid with other oils. Not sure though. Guest guest
Lots of interesting ideas of things to rinse your nose with! I will again recommend pulmicort respules. I am weathering my third cold of the season, this one was worse, but not worse than anyone else who has it. I teach first grade so if 3 colds seems like a lot, consider that! I was sick from Sept. through July of last year. This rinsing is really working for me. My lungs were only bad for a couple of days, I still have my sense of smell and taste. I talked to my doctor about desense. but he said there was no reason to do it because I am doing so well right now. I have been doing well since August! The other piece is taking singulair, no alcohol because it is problem for me and avoiding other triggers- not always easy since I have not tested " allergic " to anything! My ENT still pushes the nasonex but none of the sprays worked for me and I believe they may have been more irritating than helpful. I will not use them. Interesting discussion about low carbs. I developed this problem after coming off a year of low carb eating. I have tried to go low carb again but have not be very successful My most difficult issue is dealing with this psychologically. I am having a hard time accepting that this is with me forever now. How can it just show up one day and decide to stay? How rude!
