Guest guest
Aspirin is a salicylate. Desensitisation works by challenging the immune system with gradually increasing doses of aspirin, until the body will accept the drug without reaction. Our links page gives access to many sites that give lists of food which contain salicylates, which may cause an asthmatic reaction and with the suggestion that they should be avoided. Could continual use of these salicylate rich foods desensitise the consumer from these foods and also from the main allergic drug? In avoiding these foods, are we perhaps leaving ourselves open to accidental ingestion of salicylates and the consequent asthmatic reaction?
