Guest guest
The proper dosage is 4x a day. That is what I take. I still occasionally have “allergy” symptoms I just take an OTC med. I think zyflo is more effective overall and I fee better than when I was taking only sigulair. michelle From: samters [mailto:samters ] On Behalf Of Sent: Friday, April 06, 2007 5:32 PM samters Subject: Trouble switching to Zyflo? My allergist switched me from Singulair to Zyflo. He felt it would do better in keeping the polyps at bay when used in conjunction with my ASA regimen. I am taking the Zyflo 3 times daily as per his instructions. (I've heard that 4x is the more proper dosage). It seems as if my allergy symptoms are breaking through more often now that I've switched to Zyflo. For example, wheezing, sneezing, and a runny nose about mid- afternoon as well as waking up with a clogged nose. I started the Zyflo on a Saturday and by Monday and Tuesday the allergy symptoms seem worse. I went back to Singulair in the morning yesterday and today and I seem better. I still did take the Zyflo as well. Has anyone else had this problem when switching to Zyflo? Have you had other side effects? Guest guest
, So are you taking Zyflo and Singulair together? How about others. Unfortuntley Zyflo is not available in the UK yet:( Chris. -----Original Message-----From: samters [mailto:samters ] On Behalf Of anmcarterSent: 07 April 2007 13:46samters Subject: RE: Trouble switching to Zyflo? Guest guest
I took zyflo and singulair together for about a year. I had been doing so well that my doctor had me stop the singulair and I did not notice any change. I am not symptom free but I feel like I am under control most of the time. My asthma seems less frequent and less severe. Polyps are coming back but are not really a problem at this time. I have had a lot less sinus infections. This last year I have only had to be on prednisone once. Psychologically, taking only one medication and feeling in control of this disorder instead of being controlled by it has been great. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the reply. I have fairly good control using singulair and fenofexandine, but am anxious to try Zyflo when it gets launched here. Cheers, Chris. -----Original Message-----From: samters [mailto:samters ] On Behalf Of anmcarterSent: 07 April 2007 18:35samters Subject: RE: Trouble switching to Zyflo? Guest guest
While I am desensitized to aspirin (Scrips, 2002) and take it daily, my nose would run just like you were talking about. This is the kind of information I was looking for! Many thanks. Guest guest
Yep I was told they both control asthma/allergies but in two different methods - and I had a lot of benefit from taking both together....I just finished aspirin desensitization process - and hope to stop all asthma meds and predisone soon - good luck! >
