Guest guest
I'm no doctor, but obviously pain is the sign of something that's not right. I wouldn't persist doing the same thing -- I'd change something. In terms of what's happening, I'm having trouble visualizing it. If the input nostril is blocked, then the rinse will have trouble gettting through to cause any trouble, but if it does get through, it should be able to drain out the other nostril. If its the exit nostril that is blocked, then I can understand better that the rinse might get forced where it doesn't belong. In the latter case, or just in general, the rinse could always be allowed to exit through the mouth, even if there is a bit of gagging. Having said all that, I'm not that good at really understanding how all the passageways fit together, so I'm not even sure if this adds up to 2 cents worth. As far as the steroids are concerned, a week's worth of Prednisone ever hurt anyone as far as I know. -- Ken West Check the library . . . samters/links > From: " truelori " <lori@...> > Reply-samters > Date: Wed, 08 Feb 2006 03:43:10 -0000 > samters > Subject: ongoing irrigation saga > > So I am getting better at irrigation, but I still am concerned about > the nostril that is blocked! > > I definitely can get stuff through there with the adaptor. Guest guest
Lori: don't irrigate on that side until you get a burst of steroids and get swelling or polyps taken down a bit. In the meantime- use a bit of afrin spray if it helps you.
