Guest guest
Regarding XolairAre you having severe allergies? My allergist recommended Xolair because I was in a hyper sensitive state, I was reacting to just about everything after being pushed over the edge living with mold in my house. I was breaking out in hives (even internal hives causing painful heart burn) etc.Xolair comes with serious warnings but my quality of life was so low, I was willing to take the risks. I agreed to 12 months of treatment. Each week that went by after my Xolair shots (one shot in each arm every 4 weeks) I got better and better. The hives went away. I could mow the lawn or take a walk outside and not have a reaction to the trees/grasses/molds. I believe that Xolair helped me with aspirin desensitizing as well. Now that I am regaining some balance, I am leaning more towards using natural remedies versus prescription meds. I have 4 months of Xolair shots left but I may even be able to stop sooner if I continue to keep improving. It just depends on what me and the doc decide. My doctor eventually envisions me on Zyflo and aspirin only with the occasional need for Xopenex (rescue inhaler). I envision me on aspirin only (325 mg per day) and occasional use of rescue inhaler. I plan on doing that by using diet elimination, oil pulling, apple cider vinegar, exercise and Vitamin D3. I guess only time will tell. I will never refuse to use conventional medicine, but if I can use natural remedies, I will use them first. =)(for wheezing, I drank 2 tbsp of organic apple cider vinegar in juice using a straw and it stopped my wheezing and I was able to fall asleep. i cannot smell and i only 'taste' salt/sour/bitter/sweet so I am sure it is gross, but i just drank it down. my nebulizer wasn't getting the wheezing to stop one night so i thought to give it a try. earthclinic.com)
Guest guest
I've read several articles (and postings) about drinking apple cider vinegar. So I tried it, and a few hours later, I had a pretty bad asthma episode and severe congestion. A couple of days later, I did it again, and the same thing happened. After some research, I found several articles that say apple cider vinegar is very high in salicylates (as is regular vinegar), so I've cut it out. Funny how many food items contain vinegar (salad dressings, BBQ sauce, etc), all which cause the same problem for me. Would probably be worse if I wasn't desensitized. I was getting Xolair injections for about 18 months, and had sinus surgery during that period. It helped my asthma, but polyps grew back in a couple of months, and I never did get a SoS back during that time. That was before I knew about Samters, found out what I was allergic to, and got desensitized.
