Guest guest
I don't know about no sugar, no gluten no dairy for Samters -- I could imagine no or less dairy is better because the thickness of the mucus might be reduced. I eat some dairy but have reduced it, but it's more because of the fat in dairy. Of course cutting down on sugar is a good thing but I don't think it's necessary to eliminate it. But the main diet I would stress is a very low-fat diet. The reason for this is that it seems the chemicals that bother us so much, leukotrienes among others, may be made through a complex process originating in fat. Besides I think many of us have had some success with lowering our fat intake in terms of symptoms. There is no formal information that I know of for a diet for Samters very simply because I don't know that any specific diet has been proven to help it. Phytocort is an herbal blend, I have never used it. I haven't found much luck with herbs but they may work for some people. I do take Silymarin for my liver function due to toxicity of a lot of meds on my liver, and as a matter of fact my docs noticed my slightly elevated liver function went back down after I started using it, could be a coincidence but I'm happy with it.
