Guest guest
Hi Uta - I was told to take my Singulair at bedtime. Along with Rhinocort Turbuhaler it has shrunk my nasal polyps completely (and they had come back full force 3 months after surgery), and my sense of smell seems to be slowly returning. The Rhinocort powder may not be available in all countries (I'm from Canada). The aqueous nasal sprays had been totally ineffective. The allergist also suggested taking an antihistamine like Allegra daily - maybe that's what Reactine is... I didn't notice any difference with the antihistamine, so I stopped taking it. All the best, Mona At 01:45 AM 2003/11/22, you wrote: golfpingtec... I found your answer hopeful as I still go through 1/2 box of kleenex every night and cannot smell a thing. I have been taking singular in the morning ( maybe the wrong time to take it) and have never heard of reactin sinus? I love to try it if it worked for you... I assume it is presciption drug? Thanks Uta
Guest guest
I started taking singular about 10 months ago, just before I go to bed. While I have had two surgeries and also take serevent, nasonex pulmicort daily, I do feel the singular just before bed has helped. Guest guest
My doc recently started me on -- get this -- a flovent inhaler with a special nostril attachment! So basically, i'm shooting an inhaled steroid up my nose. Does it work? Not really sure -- I have a bad habit of trying a dozen new combinations of drugs at once. But it's looking like it will be part of my post-zyflo attempt to keep polyps at bay. As for singulair -- while it doesn't seem to be quite as effective, polyp-wise, as the zyflo was, it certainly keeps asthma symptoms off the map. I'm experimenting with a few other possible 5-LO inhibitors: 1. Echninacea 2. Chamomile 3. Boswellium 4. Hyperforin (in St. 's Wort) I'll let you know if I find any breakthroughs, but studies on hyperforin suggest that it may be nearly as effective as Zyflo. here's an abstract on the subject. http://www.biozentrum.uni-frankfurt.de/PharmBiol/Abstracts/Hyperforin.html teblake@... wrote: I started taking singular about 10 months ago, just before I go to bed. Guest guest
I've been using the flovent inhaler with a baby nipple attached to it since I went off prednisone in August. I think it's helping but I'm just finishing a round with a sinus infection during which nothing helped. Good luck with it! Janet
