Guest guest
These studies deal with EPA's. I'm curious about DHA -- isn't it also an Omega 3? Does it play a role, either good or bad? I've been using the salt packets that come with the neilmed bottle, in part because some sea salt contains preservatives. But recently I've been told by the nurse at my ENT's office and by the nebulizer folks that sea salt is better. Any opinions or reasons why this might be? Finally, I think asfy posted an abstract that xylito might be helpful for some with rhinitis. Would there be a downside to adding it to the saline rinse? Thanks, Joan On Nov 6, 2011, at 9:41 AM, asfy wrote:
Guest guest
EPA is a precursor for DHA.See " understanding ecosonoids " Dr. Barry Sear's website.I used to make my own Ringer's solution and used Kosher salt.Sea salt has impurities in it.Xylitol has been mentioned previously on this site .Xylitol usually can be purchased at health food stores. >
Guest guest
I use sea salt as well. Over the years I have found that I seem to get a better result with the sea salt over regular salt. I suppose it could be just me, but the sea salt feels more soothing to me. No clue why. From: joan harvey <thomyris7@...>samters Sent: Sunday, November 6, 2011 11:01 AMSubject: various questions --omega 3's, type of salt, xylitol These studies deal with EPA's.
