I agree about the polyps being more entrenched. But there is some evidence in Scripp's follow-up studies that the aspirin desensitization helps with this, too. Apparently the MEAN time to requiring surgery has been changed from three years to nine years! That's a big difference for me, because every three years seems like the kind of " life sentence " that I would not be too happy with. So far since developing polyps I have had surgery every three years Mike, since you're in NJ, have you had the surgery before? Where did you have it done and who was your doctor? I'm curious because I had two of my surgeries done in Englewood, NJ. The last time I had my surgery I was desensitized for the second time at Scripps a month later. They told me they have found that the desensitization helps better with regrowth of polyps if you have it done within a few weeks after surgery. I am uncertain whether this is true for me because my CT scan recently of the sinuses did not necessarily show polyps but just a lot of sinusitis. I haven't tried the leukotriene antagonists yet, I've been scared because of that rare lung disease that can developed. Anyone have any information about this? I also didn't know that it could possibly help my polyps, and if it can as I've read from you guys, that may change my mind about trying these drugs. My asthma is controllable with Advair (yay Advair! I love it!) but the sinuses are a huge life-changing problem for me. Lori
